Architecture Delft

Just passing by on a sunny morning.....

..... makes one think of the rooftops of Buenos Aires.

Impressions in sand and a tile....

Suddenly you see it and then there is more.

The fine pattern that looks like a zipper or a snake.

Or the ornamental like prints of wheels.

The curves on the beach like synchronous snakes.

Soon to be washed away by the sea, but the crowned fishes will leave their imprint on the tiles of the boulevard for seasons to come.

Canal art 2016 in Delft

We had to do some shopping.... and stumbled into the Canal Art of Delft.
The reflection adding an extra dimension.

Colourful arrows pointing at themselves.

Are they painted or is it just the color of the water?

And the building goes on.....

The "Open day" at the new station and city office of Delft (Netherlands) offered an opportunity to see how the work was going on.

Outside it looks almost finished.... but inside you see that there is still a lot of work to do...

To make the building look less like a fortress there are long openings into the sides, like semi open patio's.

And this is how the offices will look like....

The old noisy viaduct that divides the inner city will be demolished as soon as the tunnel is ready for use.

The original bright orange steel structure has been covered.

Lots of electrical cables....

Outside the building activities and the old city are reflected in the glass wall of the station.
