Along the PANAM south of Lima

Driving in Peru form Lima to Ica south along the Panam (The Pan America Highway)
there is a lot of interesting scenery. No time to stop....  So I have been taking pictures
from the bus (again..)...

In the morning it is misty; the very cold Humboldt current flows along the coast.
In the afternoon the sun appears in full glory. Also because of the Humboldt current
the and is very dry, a dessert.

 Agriculture in the dessert.

New settlements arise everywhere along the road.

Politics give rise to vehement emotions.

A lot of tires along this road.

  An industrial development.

 Here live becomes more colorful.

Between a tuk-tuk and a car.... Very easy to get a taxi in Peru.

The people love these fences of woven reeds.

The larger kind of taxi..... lots of these around too.

Inca Kola.... you have to drink it!!

From old school-buses to very modern night-buses .... and everything in between.

This is what you get when driving past to fast....  only half the picture (and reflections).

Strictly no smoking ladies ..... !!!

A walk around town...

The end of a busy street.
Quiririm is a small town, part of the larger town of Taubaté, in the Paraiba valley north of the immense city of São Paulo. It is on the high banks of the Paraiba river. Walking around this small town is almost as being in the countryside itself.

In Brazil beautiful flowers are all over the place.

An ugly concrete wall becomes interesting when it is grown with small plants.

The road ends in the fields.

Like this one....

Only two or three blocks away from the center of the town.

Home made

Just as everywhere else; a bathtub with water for the cows

A coutryside pub (or like we say here: The bakery)

A small farm

Sitting outside is important.

Great cows.

Like a painting of the Dutch painter Paulus Potter.

Of course.... ants are everywhere.

All ends at the road to Campos de Jordão.
