Copacabana clouds......

At the end of a day visiting the city of Rio we would have liked to sit on the roof terrace of our hotel  in Copacabana to look at the flocks of Fregat birds passing... But most of the time the clouds arrived just at the same time and we had to go inside because of the heavy thunder storms.

The skies were magnificent. Rolling clouds and sharp contrasts because of a low sun together with low hanging clouds. These pictures don't need any comments.

Skies just skies....

In Patagonia skies manifest themselves in a lot of fascinating ways. Evening, early morning or daytime, be prepared for some fantastic shows.

Clouds like rays coming from behind the mountains.

Or piles of cotton wool hanging above the landscape.

Turning more and more golden and orange as the sun sets very slowly.

Now this looks like an airplane to me..... it was flying over the Beagle Channel.

Something falling out of the sky? 

The unobstructed views are awe inspiring.

 ...... or sunrise; the skies are magnificent.

But the most fantastic show I ever saw, was a long time ago in Puerto Natales. One evening the clouds looked as if they were on fire. Imagine people being inside their homes and missing this....

  

Enjoy your flight.....

Flying to me is always interesting. It is good to be a bit apprehensive during take off and landing. This magnificent way of transport should be treated according to its status; with respect! 

But while in the air, it is a good thing to enjoy the ever changing clouds, the colors on the airplanes, the reflections of sunlight on the wings....  

Sometimes even there are beautiful ice crystals on the window as a reminder of the extreme cold outside.
